My advice is; for every yeast pack you buy, always check the expiration date written on the package. An envelop of Active dry and instant yeast has a pretty longer shelf life of up to 2-years if you store then in a cold dry place. Instant yeast does not last as active dry yeast. The best way to know if your active yeast is expired yet, is to perform a yeast activity test.
